A Rainy Day
In a rainy day it rains all day long. It occurs in the rainy season. Sometimes it rains cats and dogs and sometimes it drizzles. The sky overcast with clouds. The day looks gloomy in a rainy day. The sun seldom appears in the sky. The roads become muddy. Roads at places go under water. People do feel well in a rainy day. They have to remain at home. Some people play cards on this day. They also gossip sitting together. The fish-hunters go out fishing. The village women cook food by getting wet. The children like a rainy day. They listen to stories sitting by their father or grandfather. They also like to bathe in the rain. They enjoy the sound of flowing water and the cries of the frogs. The school children become happy in a rainy day. They do not have to go to school. The poet and the artist like rainy day. A rainy day greatly affects our economy. The poor and the day labourer suffer much in a rainy day. They can not go out for work. The business centers remain closed. The labourers can not go to the factory. So, the production of the mills and factories is hampered. Sometimes heavy rainfall destroys crops. I spend a rainy day reading novels and watching television.
